Okay I Submitted My Article. Where’s My backlink?
Just because you submit articles to us, or any article directory, does not mean it will automatically get indexed into Google or other search engines. Many of your web pages, articles, and social profile pages can take a LONG time to get picked up by Google, if at all.
Now, if your pages are not included in the search results, you will of course be missing out on some targeted traffic to your pages. More importantly, any backlinks you may have pointed to these pages might not even be counted. Nada. Nilch. None. It’s got to be indexed to be worth a darn. That’s a fact, Jack!
Ultimately, you want your articles on the first page of Google, so you need to monitor them regularly to make sure they get indexed. You also want to increase traffic to these pages for better ranking. With a little effort on your part, you can speed up the process and give your articles or pages the attention they deserve. If you give Google a little nudge to come index your page, this will work wonders for your traffic stats. But manual monitoring of each and every article or web page can take way too much time, so how do you accomplish this daunting task?
Here’s something easy to remember… B Y O B:
- Backlinks – Implement an efficient, but responsible backlinking campaign.
- YouTube – Turn your article into a video for even more exposure.
- OnlyWire – It’s an all-in-one bookmarking service. The only one I use.
- Blog & Ping – Post a link to it on your blog, then ping away.
All of these methods will help to get your links indexed faster.
Remember, Google spiders seem to thrive on blogs and they visit these types of sites daily. Posting on a blog can get your new links indexed within 24 hours. All you need to do to get your blog crawled frequently is to post some frequent and fresh content to the blog then ping it afterward.
You can also use a feed Mashup. There are free services online that will allow you to create a mashup of several of your URL’s into one feed. Then all you do is submit this new combined feed to all the popular feed aggregator sites.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could easily see which of your pages ARE indexed?
